painting again
Last week I started a new painting on a 24×30″ birch panel. It will be submitted to a local group show whose deadline for submission is just over a week away. I’ve been adding photos and short videos to my Instagram stories to document the process.
site update
so I made some changes to the website, and will be firing up the newsletter soon.
One thing I realized as I dropped bundles of images into galleries here was that they can show the filename and description…over the years my filenames and descriptions have changed. I’ll go in and clean those up little by little, most likely to include the title and date, and possibly media and dimensions (if I get really ambitions). Let me know what you think about the changes.
have a great day,
John
John Otter featured on ArtQuench
I was recently invited to be a featured artist at ArtQuench magazine, sharing my backstory. It took me longer than expected to write. I’m usually not one to share much about where I came from, I’m much more interested in where I’m at now – but the process was pretty illuminating.
Encouraged by his artistic mother John learns at an early age the techniques of drawing. His travels to different environments affect his work and allow him to grow in new ways. John’s exceptional work shows his range of talent and inspires us to continue to grow in our craft.
