I’m streaming on Twitch tonight – starting around 6 pm Pacific (or 5:30? follow my account and get notifications of when I go live). I’m hoping to finish up this somewhat large abstract drawing which is on the back of a desktop calendar page #PandemicArt
Also, if you haven’t heard already: every month I’m mailing off an original drawing to one lucky newsletter subscriber! I’ve sent two off already and the next could be headed your way, all you need to do is be a current newsletter subscriber – you can find a link to subscribe here – I usually pick the winner around the middle of the month, so you have a week or two to subscribe.
Interesting article about some recent discoveries that might be some of the earliest examples of art created in the British Isles about 23,000 and 14,000 years ago. Some of it may be abstract and some representational. I’ve always been fascinated by very early human art. About 13 years ago I found a pile of books near a dumpster, this was before there were those Little Free Libraries. Seeing all those neglected books waiting to go…to the dump? I would hope at the very least they were going to be recycled. but I don’t know. I grabbed one of them and went home. Eventually I started altering pages, blacking out words, and drawing in the book. The words on the pages made nice details for the backdrops of drawings. I still have the books, and it’s nowhere near complete, but I also recently came across a few scans from the book and thought I’d share them here and on Instagram. Maybe one day I’ll complete every page in the book, at least that’s something to work towards.
You heard right. I’m planning on giving away a drawing each month to one lucky newsletter subscriber… and it could be you! The only requirement is that you’ve signed up to receive my newsletter. It’s free to sign up and you can unsubscribe at any time. I’m thinking the giveaway will be around the middle of each month, so you still have time to subscribe for the July drawing.
I’m thinking, since this is the first month of trying it out, I’ll pick a random subscriber around the middle of the month. Subscribe now and I’ll have more contest details sent out via newsletter soon.
