packing

Today I’m packing up my bedroom, tomorrow the studio. I’ve lived here for about three years, which I think is the longest I’ve lived in the same location since moving out of my parents house, shortly after high school. Its a nice feeling actually, going through all my possessions (I don’t have that many). Most of my books are packed now, I came across a few gems I haven’t looked at or read in many years. They bring a flood of thinking to the mind. Tomorrow night there are a few fun things to do after the day of packing, and then sunday I’ll start moving things from here to there. Its a holiday weekend and I’m hoping to be completely moved by Monday night.

finally bought a cell phone

last weekend I went down to San Diego to help my dad with yard work. Had to wake up at the crack of dawn to catch a train down Friday morning and didn’t return until Sunday evening. The weather was hot all weekend, I’d say the upper 90’s, making the yard work all the less enjoyable. It took a couple days to recover, think I might have had slight heat stroke on top of exhaustion. Yesterday while on my lunch break I went on a spending spree. I bought two cd’s from local record shop, the self titled Jane’s Addiction album and the new Sublevel release mixed by Doc Martin, “True School”. After that I walked over to the wireless store and signed up and bought a cell phone. Part of my reasoning is that I’m moving from my current living situation soon and may be house-sitting at a place where there wouldn’t be phone service. Even if that place doesn’t work out I won’t need to get a new phone line now.
