tomorrow I’m catching an early train down to Oceanside to spend the weekend with friends and family. There will certainly be yardwork, chainsaws, cheap beer, people I’ve seen somewhat recently, people I haven’t seen in a long time, a farewell to a friend who’s moving to London soon, seeing a newly acquired friend’s house, drinking, fun, craziness, laughter, etc. etc. I think I have nearly every moment of the weekend booked. I would take my sketchbook but I think the only time I’ll really have to draw will be on the long train ride there.

Spring

sunday night fever
yesterday eveing I saw Saul Williams. He blew my mind. Amazing. Total respect for that cat.
Today, with the help of a friend, the studio space was cleaned and organized. A pretty large undertaking, and luckily succesful. Thought I might begin painting this weekend, but it just wasn’t in the cards. Hopefully soon. I think I have to stop making plans so I can get back to the work at hand.
Tomorrow instead of the usual playing music while doing laundry and then shooting pool I believe it will be meeting with a friend afterwork to work on music for modern dance and then perhaps painting. Sometime soon I need to get my taxes figured out, and hopefully file all the paperwork that’s been piling up.
Yesterday I bought a book about RSS & ATOM (total geeky pleasure). Can’t wait to implement some of the ideas.
The sunshine still makes me smile, I hope I don’t forget how sweet it is anytime soon.
beautiful weather
the sun made me forget all my stresses. Spent most of the day cleaning and organizing. moved all perishable art inside the house, stacked neatly. Thats a relief – I’m glad nothing was damaged in the leaky roof inceident. Yay for spring! I’m hoping to get all my stuff organized this weekend, put things in proper places, reorganize, clean, etc. If I complete that task (which is quite large) I’ll get to work on the new painting -otherwise I’m hoping to be in a position where starting work on it will be easier (because of reorganizing).
